And so at 6am tomorrow morning (15th May) there will be further news to tune in to. The effort (in time) to get from the Everest Summit to the Lhotse Summit is approximately 21 hours. Gabby plans to go straight on to climb to the summit of Lhotse (8500mts). Jane will then go down to Camp 2 where she will sleep the night. We won’t hear anything more until they get back down to camp 4 (at 3pm Australian time) for a brief rest. They are ecstatic, elated, healthy and quite literally ‘on top of the world’. They were reportedly on the summit for 15-25 minutes to take in the enormity of their achievements, and the sunrise.
